National Day of Prayer

Since the founding of the United States of America, our leaders have called the nation to prayer in times of trouble. In 1952 President Truman signed a bill proclaiming the National Day of Prayer into law. Since 1988 the date for the NDP has been set to the 1st Thursday of May. This year's theme is LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

We encourage our church to join with millions of Christians throughout this land in repentance and prayer on May 2nd. There are several public prayer gatherings in our area that you are encouraged to join if your schedule permits:

  • 7:00-8:00am outside the Boalsburg Military Museum at the flagpole
  • 12:00-1:00pm in front of the County Courthouse in Bellefonte
  • 6:30-8:00pm at the bandstand of South Hills School of Business and Technology

Please set time aside on May 2nd for private and/or family prayer on behalf of our nation. Here is the 2019 National Prayer that you can use if you'd like.
